At Equine Design Studio, we offer innovative and customer-oriented solutions in the design of horse farms. Our goal is to create safe, comfortable and aesthetically superior facilities that meet the needs of both horses and their owners. Here are some of the important elements and details we take into account in our custom horse farm projects.
1. Site Selection and Planning
The success of private horse farm projects starts with the right choice of location and planning. At this stage, factors such as the climate, soil structure, water resources and accessibility of the region are taken into account. Local legal regulations and environmental impacts are also taken into consideration.
- Climate and Weather Conditions: The climate of the region affects many aspects of the farm, from the choice of building materials to be used to the design of barns and training areas. Cool and shaded areas are preferred in hot climates, while insulated and heated structures are preferred in cold climates.
- Soil and Water Resources: Suitable soil structure and adequate water resources are important for the health and comfort of horses. The soil of the area where the farm will be established is analyzed in terms of drainage properties and nutrient values. The adequacy and quality of water resources are also assessed.
- Accessibility and Logistics: The proximity of the farm to major roads and important points is of great importance in terms of transportation and logistics. A location that is easily accessible to veterinarians, suppliers and visitors is preferred.
2. Barn Design and Comfort
Stable design aims to ensure that the area where horses will live their daily lives is comfortable and safe. In this context, elements such as the dimensions of the stables, building materials, ventilation and lighting systems are planned in detail.
- Stable Dimensions and Layout: Provide space for each horse to move and rest comfortably. Stables of 3.6 x 3.6 meters (12 x 12 feet) are generally recommended for each horse. The layout of the stables is optimized for easy maintenance and cleaning.
- Building Materials: Durable, easy to clean and harmless to health materials are preferred. Usually wood or betopan is used for barn walls and rubber mats or compacted soil for floors.
- Ventilation and Lighting: A good ventilation system keeps the air inside the barn fresh and clean. Natural light is important for the health of the horses and therefore windows and transparent roof panels are used. Energy efficient LED lighting is preferred for the night.
